We have played
in concerts, on television and radio, in theaters, festivals,
seminars, meditation resorts, in rain forests, book stores,
reiki conferences, yoga conferences, dolphin expeditions, satsangs,
and mind-body-spirit exhibitions ... a continual out-pouring
of song, chant, mantra, all within the realm of sacred silence.
This is our
nourishment and our life's work: to create spaces around the
planet where the silence that follows the chant is clearly
tangible. We share with others the healing power of the voice
... and the bliss that it brings.
Our vision:
Everybody with a voice can sing, and everyone with a breath
in their body can experience their divinity.
Once a song
came to me: " ... This is no ordinary love affair ... " It
was a song of gratitude to Osho, a being who had become my
constant inspiration. It was also a statement on my life with
Premal. Since we met in 1990 in Osho's ashram in India, my
life has been so rich and full. Premal was studying Shiatsu
and I was playing music for the community. Before long, we'd
become friends and lovers ... a little later we began singing
together. Out of this came our voice workshops entitled, 'From
Song into Silence' inspired by the ashram Sufi Dances that
had influenced us so strongly.
Later, we
began to play in Europe, offering concerts and satsang, and
by 1997 we had released 5 albums. Our first commercial success
came in 1996 with the release of STRENGTH OF A ROSE, an 'un-plugged'
collection of love songs. In 1998 THE ESSENCE was born and
introduced us to a whole new audience. Suddenly we were being
invited to present our music all over the world.
Premal and
I have spent the past 10 years, 24 hours a day ... traveling,
sharing each other's gifts, and singing together. To have been
able to experience this, a friendship shared in love, light
and laughter has been for me, the greatest gift imaginable."
